Choosing a Great Domain Name

Having your own domain hosted by a professional hosting company is the first step to building your credibility as a business owner. Remember, even though you may be a distributor in a network marketing company, you are the product, not the mlm opportunity. By having a professional domain, you are taking the first step to becoming a true business leader.

Owning your own domain is very important for marketing, content, traffic analysis, and control over your own destiny. If you sign up for a WordPress blog, guess who owns all of your content and infrastructure? The answer is...NOT YOU. It's WordPress! Do you want to leave your personal brand left up to another company? As a professional and a business owner, the answer is NO WAY! Your goal is to recruit others to follow you, and your web domain is one of the first steps to gain credibility.

Believe it or not, choosing a web domain takes lot of time and careful research. You don't want to just randomly choose a domain based on what sounds good or what happens to be available at the time. It is critical to your success to select a domain that sets you apart from the competition and has the potential to get noticed by search engines and included in search results. The first thing to do is some keyword research to find the most popular keyword searches. In order to build a high traffic site from organic searches, create a spreadsheet of the top keywords and work with combinations that accurately describe your business.

Even though owning your domain name is critical to your success, not having a professional sounding domain is the kiss of death. If the domain for your business is something like: http://www.johndoe.myaffiliatecompany.com/23432, then amateur is the first thing that comes to mind. The truth is you are losing credibility and leads because of an unprofessional URL. Also, even worse is not being able to have a personal email address from your own domain name.

Why would anyone respond to chuckj001524@yahoo.com? This is not a real email address...its just an example of what NOT to use if you are serious about your business. If you own your own domain, you decide which email addresses can be associated with the domain, so you are in control. This way, you can choose any email address you want from your domain like: john@johndoe.com or johndoe@johndoe.com or president@johndoe.com. Now you can have an email address from your domain that is not hosted by gmail, yahoo, AOL, or hotmail. While these are commonly used for personal communications, they are unprofessional and unacceptable for business use.

Another reason to own your own web domain is to have complete control over your web site. If you are involved in affiliate marketing, you may be given an affiliate link with your user name and or company id number at the end. Even though this link contains elements in the web address that allow you to get paid, you should never use it in advertisements or articles. When people see these kinds of links in ads, many times they will delete the last part of the address and go to the primary domain to see what the company is about. For example, if you use an affiliate address like: http://www.myname.myaffiliatecompany.com/4923, people will erase everything except http://www.myaffiliatecompany.com and you will lose your commission.

To select a domain name you can search the Internet for service providers or ask around and get suggestions from friends and colleagues. A few suggestions are: http://www.networksolutions.com, http://www.sitebuildit.com, or newtektechnologyservices.com if you are tech savvy and want to write your own code to build dynamic, data-driven web pages.

Some things to remember in selecting a domain name are: • Keep it simple – Try to find the shortest name possible that accurately describes your business • Do some research – Research top keywords to find the words and phrases relevant to your business • Easy - Easy to remember and spell

When you find your domain name remember to register several variations:

For example: • http://www.mymlmdomain.com • http://www.mymlmdomain.net • http://www.my-mlm-domain.com • http://www.my-mlm-domain.net

The reason for this is you don't want anyone stealing your traffic by registering a domain similar to yours in the hope of getting some of your traffic.

The next thing to remember about choosing a domain name, especially if you are a network marketer is to have at least one generic named domain that can be used for any type of business. Generic domains names like JenniferJodyGroup.com or JenniferJodyLLC.com provide you with a lot of flexibility when it comes to generating leads if you are a network marketer, because your lead generation site will need a capture page and you don't want to promote your primary mlm opportunity on this kind of site. By owning a generic site, you have a lot of flexibility including using it for one main email address to give to all of your contacts. Too many email addresses is a problem for a lot of people, so by having a primary method of contact, you are perceived as true professional and business owner.

This process will not be easy since most of the domains you come up with will already be taken. A quick way to find out if a domain is available is to go to http://www.networksolutions.com and enter the domain you are interested in and you will immediately know if it is available. This company will provide you with a lot of similar alternatives if the domain you chose is already taken.

Spend some time and keep looking until you find the best domain name available for your business based on the information provided above. Remember, a professional domain is one of the first keys to your success if you are marketing on the Internet.

To Your Success,

Secrets of Success in Network Marketing

As you probably know there are millions and millions of ads for business opportunities out there on the Internet. Many of those are for network marketing opportunities and tens of thousands are for the opportunity you are currently in. However, most of the people advertising these opportunities are using a cookie-cutter approach supplied by their mlm company and are not able to effectively communicate why their team stands out from the rest.

Unfortunately, most people in MLM don't treat their business like a real business. That is the main reason there is such a high failure rate with MLM opportunities. People in these organizations don't understand that it takes hours and hours of study in marketing to effectively utilize the Internet to attract leads. Ironically, most of the network marketing companies out there don't teach anything useful or effective about networking or marketing.

To avoid these same mistakes, the first thing to do is search the Internet for Direct Marketing experts. Find a guru or an individual with a successful track record and learn how to write sales copy and ad copy. Some marketing pros who have mentoring programs include Ben Hart, Yanick Silver, and Mike Dillard just to name a few. Direct Marketing is the only type of marketing that will work in MLM because it is used to build leads, which is the key to success in network marketing. Sure your primary company provides some marketing materials, but they are generic in nature and usually list product features instead of benefits and focus on boring, useless facts about the company.

After you have taken marketing courses, listened to training calls, and studied for weeks or even months, choose an advertising medium to get started. PPC (Pay per Click), Article Marketing, Blogging, and Social Networking are a few to explore. Choose one of these and master it. You'll know you have mastered a marketing technique when you are generating leads. The main purpose of these systems is to drive traffic to your website(s).

The key in all of these types of marketing is to first provide value before you ask for anything in return. People don't care about you or your business. They need information and/or products to solve a problem. If you can provide solutions to people's problem, then you are creating value and people will seek you out. This is how you build leads, which are as valuable as gold.

You accomplish this by marketing information, not your opportunity. This may not sound like it makes sense, but after you have become a source of knowledge for others, people will want to do what you are doing.

The bottom line is it takes a lot of hard work and dedication and there are no get rich quick secrets. Remember, the amount of money you get paid directly relates to the value you provide to others.

Magnetic Sponsoring Video Boot Camp

When I first started my first network marketing business I was told to make lists of family and friends and start calling them to discuss this great business opportunity. A few people expressed some interest...mostly just to humor me, and after a few months I was left with no more prospects.

I was later instructed by my primary mlm company to make some calls to business associates, neighbors and other acquaintances and invite them to my house for a meeting. After appetizers and a few hours of old-school hard sales techniques, a few people became members to get a one-time product discount.

The following week I was told by to call all of the people who attended the meeting and try to convince them to buy more products. I decided not to make the calls, since bugging people is not my style.

At this point I became very frustrated and didn't know what to do next. I think anyone who has ever joined an mlm opportunity has experienced this too. Later, I decided to do some research online to find some ideas on how to generate network marketing leads using internet marketing strategies.

After looking over several systems that promised ridiculous overnight success, I found some free videos by a guy named Mike Dillard. His 7 Day Free Video Boot Camp explains how to build a system that will generate an endless supply of mlm leads who are genuinely interested in building a network marketing business. With this system, people approach me to discuss my opportunity instead of me trying to hunt them down.

Using the systems and methods described in these videos seemed to make a lot more sense than calling random people who don't want to be bothered and probably have no interest at all.

The 7 Day Free Video Boot Camp has really helped my business and I believe it can help anyone involved in a network marketing opportunity.

Lead Generation in Network Marketing – The Funded Proposal

I have no doubt you have been approached by an enthusiastic MLM Distributor who is dying to tell you about an opportunity that can't fail and will allow you to retire to a tropical island if you just follow the plan and buy plenty of products. After all, you would be buying them anyway from a retail store...right? Does that sound familiar? I know I have heard it all myself many times throughout the years. So many people were approached by Amway for the last 30 years they had to change their name! Everyone has heard how their toilet paper and toothpaste are just as good as the products for sale at Kroger. I am sure you remember being invited to a meeting in someone's living room where a bonus check for $9,000.00 was paraded around the room. However, the past techniques of recruiting distributors are gone forever.

The only way to build a truly successful network marketing business in the 21st century is by using proven mlm lead generation systems. The funded proposal model is highly successful because it allows you to generate leads on the Internet and make money at the same time. With this type of system you are able to generate income even if the prospects don't join your opportunity.

The funded proposal is a way of providing an answer or solution to a problem in the form of a free offer of some kind such as an ebook, special report, training course, newsletter, etc. The key here is to provide "how to" information that is genuinely valuable. Forget about hounding people for what they can do for you...remember, it is all about them. If you provide true value and offer to help someone solve a problem for free, you build trust with that person. I am not talking about trickery or deception, but honesty.

Pitching a business opportunity to a perfect stranger is a complete waste of time...after all, why should they believe you?

The funded part of the proposal comes in when you have built trust with a prospect over time and are able to offer them something with such a great value, the price seems ridiculously low for what they get in return. When you offer solutions to help people you will set yourself apart from the millions of network marketers who are only out for themselves.

By generating leads with a funded proposal you will be able to build a valuable list, which is as good as gold when it comes to direct marketing as long as you continue to provide valuable content.
